It’s 2018, and with that a business needs to know that everyone (or just about everyone) is on their mobile devices – looking for job openings, applying, even interviewing! Being active on social media – and utilizing the platforms to project and promote business and brand – makes a business more attractive to a potential candidates over a business that isn’t as social savvy. Showcasing a strong digital presence will help you attract and retain smart employees. Use the applications such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram, and, when you are in need of a new employee, announce and promote your needs right from that source!  In addition, consider reviewing a cnadidate’s online profiles — while not be a major deciding factor, checking out their Facebook or Instagram can lend you another layer as to who the candidate is.

3. Keep an Applicant’s Character and Personality in Mind
Soft skills are so important, especially in today’s business landscape, as they often portray the way in which an individual would handle a certain situation. Yes, of course you want your candidates to have the required knowledge and experience you’re looking for, but those can easily be taught or acquired or time! A person’s personality and the way he or she carries themselves is much harder to change — they were born that way!
